Important: This document is a professional-format Copy B (recipient copy) that a payer gives the contractor. It is not for filing with the IRS: Copy A is filed with the IRS separately, electronically or on the official form, and some states require their own filing. LeoFolio does not file forms.

Common questions? Check.

Can I file this copy with the IRS?
No. This is a professional-format recipient copy (Copy B) to give the contractor. Copy A is filed with the IRS separately, electronically or on the official form. LeoFolio does not file forms.
Who should get a 1099-NEC instead of a 1099-MISC?
Use the 1099-NEC for nonemployee compensation paid to independent contractors for services. Use the 1099-MISC for rents, royalties, prizes, or other miscellaneous payments.
Do you have a contractor agreement?
Yes. The independent contractor agreement ($9.99) sets out the work, payment terms and the contractor relationship before the work starts. Like the 1099s, you preview it free and pay when it is right.
What do I need from the contractor?
Their name, address, and taxpayer identification number, usually collected on Form W-9. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter.
Should I pay a worker as a contractor or an employee?
That depends on the working relationship, not on the paperwork. The IRS and state agencies publish guidance on worker classification. If the worker is an employee, pay them through a Pay Run instead.
Can I edit my document before paying?
Yes — as many times as you need. The preview updates in real time so you always see exactly what your final document will look like before spending anything.
What payment methods are accepted?
All major credit and debit cards through secure Stripe checkout — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. Apple Pay and Google Pay also supported where available.
How do I receive my document?
Immediately after payment your clean, watermark-free PDF downloads on the confirmation page. We email a backup copy within minutes.
